Caring for Your Living Christmas Tree

Our pot grown Christmas trees can be enjoyed indoors over the festive season and planted in the garden afterwards with the right care.

During Christmas:

  • Choose a cool room away from radiators, fireplaces and other direct heat sources.

  • Keep your tree away from direct sunlight and draughts.

  • Water regularly to keep the rootball moist, but avoid allowing the pot to sit in standing water.

  • Limit the time your tree spends indoors where possible, ideally no longer than 7–10 days, to help prevent it coming out of dormancy.

After Christmas:
Gradually acclimatise your tree before planting it outdoors. Move it to a cool, sheltered area such as a garage, porch or unheated conservatory for around 1–2 weeks, allowing it to adjust to cooler temperatures.

Once acclimatised, plant in a suitable position with well-drained soil, water thoroughly and keep the soil moist while your tree establishes.

With a little care and attention, your living Christmas tree can become a beautiful addition to your garden for years to come.
